Another gloriously sunny morning as we packed up the car and trundled in the direction of Patterdale, making a detour on the way to visit a rather pretty little peak called High Rigg which sits above the church of St John’s in the Vale, near Keswick.
St John’s in the Vale is a delightful small church with regular services
We parked free of charge in a lay-by on the road to Threlkeld and walked back to a small made-up road on the right which took us up by the church.
And this is where we were heading
For a small fell, it had a rather steep incline in places but the view was definitely worth it
As with any climb, the reward is the cup of tea at the summit!
