The Canadian Rockies sing of poetry; rocky outcroppings as smooth as a metal edge swords, fast flowing rivers, lush verdant forests, abundant wildlife, colourful meadows dancing in the breeze, and peaks covered in white icing rising into the misty clouds. The First Nations referred to the Rockies as the Shining Mountains, most likely in reference to the sun glinting off the snow covered peaks.
