A girls’ weekend in Paris that turned into a 7 week holiday.
I really only had one thing that I wanted to do in Amsterdam, so a day trip was all I’d planned.

Like so many people, I’d read The Diary of Anne Frank at school and it had a lasting impact on me. Her insights and maturity made it hard to imagine this as the diary of a teenager. On the other hand, there was much of the teenage girl in her writings as well.
A visit to the Anne Frank House was a must for my first trip to the Netherlands. Fortunately I’d been advised to pre-purchase my tickets online well in advance. Even in the off season it is sold out.
