It Follows

Directed By: David Robert Mitchell

Grade: B+

So despite chickening out of Halloween (was there ever any doubt?) for some strange reason I was determined to watch a scary movie for October’s Blind Spot. It Follows seemed like a perfect one.

I mean after all its not some serial killer sneaking in and hacking you to death. Just don’t have sex with anyone whose seeing things that other people don’t and is possibly cursed. Which is a really good rule anyway.

The Party’s Just Beginning

Directed By: Karen Gillan

Grade: B

I was super excited to see Karen Gillans writing and directorial debut show up on iTunes. I’ve been a huge fan since her Amy Pond days so I really wanted to check this out and support an actress I love going behind the camera (and writing!)

I think it’s a really strong debut a character study that will stick with me but I can’t say I loved it.

Bright Burning Stars

By: A.K. Small

There are some things to me that just scream drama. Anything involving the ballet is one of those things. I will likely read it. Watch it. Enjoy it. Which is really weird perhaps because I can count the number of ballets I’ve been too on less than one hand.

My thanks to the publisher for the advanced copy of Bright Burning Stars (which comes out tomorrow May 21st) and allowing me to be part of the blog tour!
