I actually got this book in London last summer and I only read it recently. It feels like both a shame that I kept postponing to read a great book like this and a win for finally reading it! It was very different than expected, but I really enjoyed it really. I think book two, Godsgrave, is more going into the direction of what I originally thought.

First things first: I absolutely LOVE Mr. Kindly, even though I still have no clue how to properly pronounce it (Like ‘kindling’ OR ‘kind’ as in nice.) But that doesn’t matter.  It is a cat-but-not-really-a-cat made of shadows and I love the whole idea of that.
