2019: R… A to Z Italian Famiglia Foods and Memories: Rice Pie

I’m back for “Year 4” of the A to Z… April Challenge!

My first year of this challenge had me racking my brain for a writing topic… especially as I didn’t quite understand the process. But finally I came up with 2016:Southern Foods and Memories. They said write what you know… and being a girl born in the South… well this was what I knew.  2017: Conversations with Mama was a somewhat easy one for me as I’d journaled our conversations for years so I researched some of my favorite topics to write on.  2018: All About Nancy Drew has been my favorite topic so far, and I don’t know if I’ll ever come up with another to equal it. It literally had me researching every day for over six months… researching, reading and perfecting every…

I’ve joined up to do this book blitz to tell you all about this intriguing book The Boy Who Steals Houses by C.G. Drews. You might know that C.G. Drews blogs at Paperfury.com that’s where I heard about her first book A Thousand Perfect Notes which I reviewed here in Febuary.
I immediately pre-ordered this new book which is out now. I haven’t read it yet but as soon as I do I’ll review it on here.
They’ve also given me access to a competition to win a signed and annotated copy of The Boy Who Steals Houses by C. G. Drews and an official art print.

Crimson’s Creative Challenge #23 – Crust.

I woke up to find Crisp, my aged companion, unwell and locked in the toilet. Today was a special day as we were to catch up with her sister, the less aged, Crust.

Crust was on a hiking holiday, and today we were crossing paths, and I suspected Crisp wasn’t all that keen on meeting up with her younger sister.

They’d had a tempestuous relationship from when they were children, and Crisp often remarked in disparaging terms of her sister. Crisp referred to her sister’s loose morals believing her sister saw all males as fair game.

We were to meet at the guesthouse in Polkington-on-Stoat and upon arrival Crust was already onto her third drink, and disappointed Crisp was unable to make the journey.

We lunched together while Crust enlightened me of her travels and I soon came to understand why Crisp found illness favourable to being with her sister.

easter birthdays, shanghai, champagne and family

My birthday this year is on Easter Sunday, April the 21st. I was born on an Easter Sunday in 1946 and my birthday has been on Easter Sunday one other time in 1957 when I was eleven years old. Get this, the next time April 21 is on an Easter Sunday is 2030. Eleven years from now, right? I find that weird, but apparently some kind of sun cycles occur at 11-year intervals every 62 years. Whatever. The End.

Earlier this week three special friends came over to play Shanghai to kick off my birthday week, and a fun time of laughter and  luck made the time pass too quickly. Congratulations to our winner War Eagle Nan who consistently has good luck, Donna and Robin’s luck was so-so and they were able to pay Nan on the spot, but Pretty had bad luck. Poor Pretty had to venmo her losses…
