The first six months of 2019 were the driest on record in Auckland, and now August is looking like being the wettest — with rain on 19 of 23 days, and more to come.

I’ve stopped worrying about parched soil and the water level in our tank, but I think I might need some taller gumboots (wellies, rain boots, Regenstiefel, botas de lluvia; whatever they’re called in your part of the world).

And of course raindrops on flower petals are rather pretty.

Which means you’ve lost track and who knows what you might’ve forgotten to do, lol!

Well, that’s obviously happened to me in two areas: 1) approaching date for my hiatal hernia, and 2) amount of time for fitness & learning to apply Amazon’s Affiliate marketing to my posts.

While the first (as per my Dr) is something I’ll be glad to get over-with & start experiencing all the possible improvements from things I’ve evidently lived with so long I don’t even know better (yay!) — the second is something I’ll be glad to get back to once the anesthesia fog lifts and I can swallow and walk more again & play with my blog more (yay again!).

Going west – and getting lost

Sue Vincent's avatarThe Silent Eye

Wales 054

Our little convoy left the ancient site playing follow-the-leader on the narrow roads. The car in front of me had instructions, in case we lost the lead car, on how to get to the car park for a quick comfort break before the next stop of the weekend. What could possibly go wrong? Off we all went looking for the right car park… to no avail. So we went back to the first one. Which was nice and had the necessary facilities, besides being right on the beach…

Wales 052

We tried calling, but there was no answer. We decided that the best course of action would be to stay put and wait for rescue. A decision…
