Tales from the Irish Garden Serialisation – Winter: The Messengers of Peace and Desperation and The Storyteller by Sally Cronin
My Review of Curse of Time Book One Bloodstone
From the beginning, I was drawn into the main character, Amelina’s world.
It is quickly established that Amelina’s world is not like other girls her age.
I can’t say more than that as I don’t want to give spoilers away.
Amelina is written so well. There is a part of her that all of us will recognise and emphasise with. At that awkward age where nothing fits and at the same time you feel as if you can conquer the world.
Darkness creeps in slowly in the form of Ryder who at first seems the answer to all Amelina desires, or is he?
The circle of friends she has are all different personalities but they fit together like a circle.
The description of each girl is short but gives us an immediate picture of their personality.
Then there are Amelina’s parents, her growing power and the strange invitation.
I give…

I’ve had to amend my post to make sure that people on Facebook can see who this article is about and not think that it is about me. Why Facebook doesn’t show my Word Press articles exactly as they appear, I don’t know. It’s very annoying.

Interview with Colleen Cheseboro
Colleen’s Interview on Adele’s blog
Hi, Colleen. It’s so good to have you here. Please, take a seat. Tea or coffee?
Thanks, Adele. I’m really excited to be here. I love tea – especially British tea. 😀
Now that we are comfortable I’ll begin. Where have we heard that quote before?
1. What event or book inspired you to become an author?
I would have to go back in time to when I was a child. I loved reading and read constantly. Some of the first books I remember reading were: Elsie Dinsmore, by Martha Finlay. Then, there were the Bobbsey Twins, by Laura Lee Hope, followed by many more books. The Little House on the Prairie series by Laura Ingalls Wilder really inspired me to become a writer, though. I still love those stories and have read them many times. By the time J.K. Rowling wrote the Harry Potter…

The Golden Apple
Welcome to a weekly round up of what I’ve been doing, reading, writing and living.
I’ve called it the Golden Apple because it reminds of the beautiful mystical Isle of Avalon where King Arthur was taken when he died.
http://alandofmythandatimeofmagic.weebly.com/avalon.html
Of course, I have my own opinion of what Avalon was and who dwelled there but that I keep for another time.
When I was small and my mam was worried about war and I said to her. “Don’t worry mam, King Arthur is only asleep and will wake if Britain is threatened.”
This reminds me now of the terrible tragedy that took place in London earlier on this week. The senseless act of a selfish man took away lives from those who loved them.
My prayers and thoughts are with the families who lost loved ones due to this brutal act of pure evil. It is horrific.
I have been…

IAVOM-White Iris
For this week’s In A Vase on Monday arrangement, I’m using the last of my white Bearded Iris (I. germanica), which have been blooming abundantly for the last 10 days. The clump offered nearly four dozen blossoms, the best it has ever bloomed.
To fill my grandmother’s milk jug, I stuffed it with pink Bleeding Hearts (Lamprocapnos spectabilis), dark and light pink Clove pinks (Dianthus caryophyllus), hot-pink Cranesbill (Geranium macrorrhizum), white Wood Anemone (A. canadensis), white Bridal Wreath (Spirea vanhouttei) and buds of chartruese Lady’s Mantle (Alchemilla mollis). I finished with the accent of a few grass seed heads.
Hop over to Cathy’s Rambling in the Garden site to see what other gardeners have made from their gardens this week.
