Spring is certainly here! By mid-April, I am a paper-grading machine! But I did stop to smell the roses, at least to capture some lovely photos for the Macro Moments Photography Challenge #36, hosted by Musin’ with Susan.

This month’s macro theme explores “bokeh” shapes in the background. I’m still a newb in many ways, but I managed to capture the little bokeh buggers behind my glorious American Beauty roses. This shot was taken in macro mode with my Panasonic Lumix FZ300.

In fact I’m such a newb that I had to google “bokeh” just to be sure. Check out this website, PhotoArgus.com  It states: “Bokeh is an optical effect in which the background of a photo is blurred. The blur is produced by taking photos with a shallow depth of field.”

I believe I got lucky! To celebrate, I found this delightful quote:
