Review: Embers of War (Embers of War #1) by Gareth L. Powell

Servillas Speaks

“Sometimes the needs of the mission outweigh the requirements of the rulebook,”

I have received this book for free from Titan Books in exchange of an honest review.

I already had this book on my TBR for a while before Titan Books emailed me about book two in this series. It really deems like the Bookish Divines listed to me when I said I wanted to read more Science Fiction books. And what Sci-fi fan can resist a cover like this?! Anyway, requesting this book (and book two for that matter) was a really good call as I absolutely loved it. I read both within the same week. Absolutely amazing.

When reading this book, Powell’s writing style made it really clear he is someone that is comfortable writing science fiction. The way he describes space travel, the makings of AI or general futuristic stuff makes it feel almost normal.
