Right from childhood, mom thought my siblings and I to live humbly. She told us never to look down on others, to be respectful, so as to grow into respectable individuals. Mom encouraged us to find beauty in our very little beginnings, to appreciate and make use of the things we had. Even though we didn’t have it all, we had just enough of all that we needed.

As tender as I was, I saw beauty in everything, in my own life and in the lives of others. I remember we had a puppy called PEACE. I referred to it as my ‘husband’ 😂, it had these cute little brown eyes with white hair covering a greater portion of its body. I fed it, cleaned it, and we often slept in the same bed. Deep within this puppy, I saw great beauty coupled with so much vulnerability, I needed PEACE…
