As mentioned previously, mandibelle16 is handing over the reins for the Friday Music Challenge. If you think this may be the job for YOU please click HERE for more information.

In the meantime, I will endeavour to keep the prompt going until a new host is found. Please remember, the Music Challenge alternates with Dylan’s First Line Friday.

Cheers, Sarah (aka weejars)

For this week I’ve chosen the song “Show Me What I’m Looking For” by Swedish-American rock band Carolina Liar. The song was a hit in 2009, particularly in Ireland where it rose up the Irish Singles Chart to number six. The song was also a radio hit on several stations in the UK and US. The song was written in only twenty minutes, and the vocals used on the final track were the first attempt; recorded in a bedroom. The song is “sunny and poppy” and a style…

Books I read in March

jen_bookworm's avatarBookworm

I still seem to be reading more books than I get around to reviewing. I want to catch up this week and write some posts for next week, so I can take a complete break next week and focus on my writing and just have a break.

Blogging is fun and so is reviewing but it’s mentally tiring trying to blog and write and review. And I’ve started exercising again. I want to read for fun sometimes and not let it become a chore so I think taking breaks from writing blog posts now and again will be very helpful. More on this soon.

Books I started in Feb but finished in March

Mrs South Africa Earth: She is pretty down to Earth

Divine's avatarBeing Yourself

We have all heard about Miss South Africa, Miss Universe, Miss World or SA Teen Ambassador which cater for pretty young female aged between 15 and 28 years old. Their requirement are pretty simple : the contest shouldn’t be married or have kids and the list goes on. That is why they call it MISS which means single ladies. There was a need to create a beauty pageant which caters for the gorgeous mothers and wives out there and at the same time preserve mother nature. I was fortunate enough to receive an invitation and hear from the founders themselves what this new beauty pageant with a purpose in Mzanzi ( South Africa) was all about.

Launch: Review

Mrs South Africa Earth launch was held on the 2nd of April 2019 at the Michelangelo Hotel in Sandton and the theme was dress to impress. I had an amazing time attending…

December 2018 Wrap-Up!

Ezzydesu's avatarServillas Speaks

Even though we already left 2018 behind and I wrapped-up the whole year, I cannot forget to wrap-up December ofcourse. December was a pretty good month for reading and blogging and I am very satisfied with it. It gave me a nice ending of 2018 and a relaxed start of 2019.

I am doing something new with this post, even though it is related to 2018: using non-bookish pictures with text as highlighted pictures for non-reviews. It has been in my head for a while and I just went ahead and introduce it! I used this new thing on my 2018 wrap-up for the first time and I absolutely love it! An amazing way to use my photography for my blog. Note: the wintery picture is almost two years old, I didn’t have any other fitting pictures for December as it still seems to be Autumn here in the Netherlands.

February 2019 Wrap-up!

Ezzydesu's avatarServillas Speaks

I can’t believe it is March already! Time is flying by really fast and I am glad as the end of my classes is coming close. A few more weeks of classes, a test week, some examtraining and my actual exams the end of May and I am free until after the Summer holidays. School is getting heavier every week and I look forward to some breathing space. I am so happy I have books which I can drag along with me everywhere so I can take mini-breaks. I hope March goes a little easier on me.

Books I have read this month

February is the shortest month of the year so I was already expecting I would read less than in January. I read half the amount of what I did in January and honestly, I don’t mind. Two of these books were a bit bigger than than my…

March 2019 Wrap-up!

Ezzydesu's avatarServillas Speaks

March was an exhausting month. I had my last weeks of classes, got pretty sick for a week and a half, lost my voice, was barely able to write for my blog or game with my boyfriend, got through an insanely heavy testweek while still recovering and now I have time to breathe. For the next three weeks I only have 2x90minutes examtraining per week and some homework, but the worst is over! I can relax again, write, play games and it is so hard to express how relieved I feel by this. It is incredible.

I can easily say that March was a shitty month for me. But April will be better and I know it! It will be special for two reason: 1. It is my birthday month! I turn 19 on the 27th. & 2. It is Autism Awareness Month and I have planned to write a…
