Oblivious

COURTESY OF PIXABAY

Too often
I go through my days oblivious

Heedless
of the beauty in the blue skies above me

Insensible
to the beauty of the life beneath my feet

Trapped
in my head and unaware

Thinking
but unthinking

Self
absorbed and unobservant

Not
noticing the small black dots

On the ladybug’s back

Or even the ladybug itself

Deaf to
the songs of the birds overhead

Blind to
the brilliant colors of the rainbow

Oblivious
of all but my small concerns

Divine
One, wake me now

Help me
be fully present

To the
miracle of life all about me

Set me
free

From oblivion

Travel: Where To Eat & Drink In Llandeilo

Steph's avatarPicking the Day

Dan and I like our food. We might even like food more than we like each other, and we like each other a helluva lot, so that’s really saying something! Eating out basically formed the majority of our early days of dating, and nothing has changed – we frequently pledge to be more interesting with our date nights is, but honestly? We just wanna eat. That little nest egg you’ve put to one side purely for frivolous spending? That sense of adventure that makes you willing to try anything? And a whole host of places you’ve never been to before? The perfect ingredients for a week of culinary treats, much like the one we had last month!

Lord of the Deep: In to The Deep.

After we had returned from ancient Sumeria that Saturday night we all, everyone of us, got changed and fought the biblical weather the thankfully short distance up the hill to the local pub.

We all deserved a break, I was there, just behind the lense. The cosy warmth in the bar was matched by the warmth of these beautiful people who had been traveling along the same path with me. This was every bit as important as a learning curve as the entire workshop itself. Different but just as important.

*******

Sunday dawned bright dry and no wind. We had weathered the flood. Today way the last day of The Silent Eye Workshop.

Had the weather really been that bad that we could not climb the hill and greet the dawn. Had it lashed with rain and wind since our arrival Friday afternoon. Mm ..Yes.

I got up early…

Join Julie climbing Great Mell Fell, Little Mell Fell and Hartsop above How

Thursday 15 May

Feeling (slightly) refreshed from my ‘time off’ the previous day, we decided to take in another couple of small fells, which actually turned into three.

We drove past Brownrigg Farm, between Matterdale End and Dockray and found a spot which had just enough space for three carefully parked cars. Great Mell Fell was a very pretty climb, completely safe for a novice walker or child. Quite a variety of landscapes; trees interspersed with open fell.

With that one tucked under our belts, it was necessary to return the same way. Walking distance between Great Mell and Little Mell was 4.7 miles according to the map, however as this would have meant retracing our steps to collect the car, we drove.

The journey took about ten minutes. There was a decent size lay-by on the other side of the road to the footpath at The Hause, near…
