What’s Cooking in Gail’s Kitchen? Start Smart: Yams in Pecan Glaze! Oh. My. Gosh. You have got to make this recipe. There’s still plenty of time before the holidays to switch back to your traditional family favorite if you don’t like it, but think about this a moment. By using canned yams, or sweet potatoes, preparation is a snap. Who knows? You could end up making both. Remember what I said about “Start Smart”? Sometimes that means taking advantage of the numerous products that eliminate the extra leg work. Sugared pecans are such a gourmet treat. Ingredients:

29-ounce can cut sweet potatoes in syrup

4 tablespoons butter

1 teaspoon sage, finely chopped

1 teaspoon thyme, finely chopped

1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

¡Nos entrevistaron en Ducktape!

Para quien no lo conozca, Ducktapetv es un canal de Youtube muy popular en República Dominicana, y el pasado 3 de octubre publicaron una pequeña entrevista que nos hicieron unas semanas atrás.

Conocimos a Yovanny, conductor del programa junto a su hermana Gladeline, en la playa de Pato, después de una divertida sesión de surf. Meli conocía a su novia, comenzamos a charlar un rato y éste al escuchar sobre nuestra aventura en camper desde Panamá hasta Alaska, nos invitó de una vez a participar en su podcast semanal “La Mesa”, que es parte de su canal de youtube.

Era la primera vez que participábamos en un podcast así. Charlamos durante unos 30 minutos con Yovanny y le contamos diferentes anécdotas sobre el viaje, ¡pero nos quedamos con la sensación de que nos quedó mucho por contar!

A seasoned chicken breast in between two thick sliced, buttered and grilled pieces of bread, melted cheddar cheese, honey mustard (or your favorite) slathered inside with apple slices and lettuce or other shredded vegetable. I made this in a cooking class and it tasted amazing!

Ingredients

In a small bowl or container

toss the vegetable, apple, thyme,

salt, pepper and lemon juice.

In a medium skillet over medium heat,

melt the butter.

Place both pieces of bread into the

skillet soaking up the butter.

Spread the honey mustard

on each piece of bread.

Place one piece of cheese on

top of each piece of bread.

When the cheese is soft and the bread

is golden brown on the bottom, remove

the pan from the heat and add the chicken

on top of the cheese on one piece of bread.

Add the apple mixture to the other piece
