Joanna Maxon of Fort Worth, Texas was almost able to complete her degree from Fuller Theological Seminary last year. The 53-year-old was studying for a master of arts in theology, and she only needed a few more classes to finish her degree.

Then she was suddenly expelled for being in a same-sex marriage.

“I was approaching the end and looking forward to graduation and all that stuff,” Maxon told NBC OUT. “To have that taken away unexpectedly — I was a really good student — I was devastated by it.”

Maxon attempted to resolve the issue with the college directly. But since that was unsuccessful, she’s taking them to court. Her attorney filed a federal suit in California, where Fuller’s main campus is based, last week.

Wow you are all awesome!!! I am so excited to have this many wonderful people take an interest in cooking. It is easy to eat out, stop at a drive thru or order pizza. Eating out almost always is unhealthy processed food and expensive.

I am not one of the professional food bloggers. I take all of my pictures with my iPad. Although I try to make my pictures look halfway decent they don’t compare to the big time bloggers pictures. So thank you for all of your support with my hobby, for all of your nice comments and for all of your likes. But more importantly, thank you for getting back to cooking at home and encouraging me to continue doing what I love to do.

Stuffed Pork Loin chops

Graham Stewart's avatarHow I Cook — by Graham Stewart

EAB9E466-3E19-4D06-9948-DDE286B68F11I found a great deal on pork loin, they are always a good thing to buy when you find a great price. Cut some of it into chops and left the thicker end for a roast. Was thinking about what I could do with the roast, it’s been awhile since I stuffed one. So it came down to do I stuff chops or the roast, the chops won. A stuffed roast is a little much for just my wife and I. It’s just better to keep the roast for company. The stuffing would of been the same if I had of used the roast. Have come to terms with stuffing for meat. Been thru the fancy stuffing faze. Remember making a stuffing for a pork loin that was a little fancy and a lot of work. It had dried cranberries, chopped apple, onion, spinach, garlic, parsley, sage, honey, salt, pepper…

– La vita, quella vera (REAL LIFE) Wirkliches LEBEN –

Sour Cream Blueberry Pancakes

✒️🥣Dorothy's New Vintage Kitchen's avatarThe New Vintage Kitchen

Shh, don’t tell the kids they are good for them…

Of all the dishes I served up at the inn for 18 years, the most frequently requested meal from repeat guests was blueberry pancakes. People remember them, think about them, desire them, and will eat them with gusto when served. Not only a favorite of guests, but family as well, so over time I devised little ways to make them less of a guilty pleasure so I could tuck the (rare) leftovers in the freezer for the kids.

We ate a lot of pancakes when we were kids, but we only had blueberry pancakes after we had actually picked the berries ourselves! So it was either feast or famine for blueberry pancakes, and we enjoyed them immensely in season. In the winter, often mom would make plain pancakes and serve them simply with a little cinnamon and sugar, which she…
