Taking a bow
It has been a pleasure. Am signing out. Taking my vintage hat off. Am a disappointed old school fellow. Someone fly me to Cuba to bring my vim and vigour.First of all I was not to attend this year’s Concours D’Elegance held on 29th September at the Ngong Race Course but fate would have it other way as I was handed a free ticket. Even in the glare of the blue hue Afro Motive design I still deliberated on who to give the ticket but my fellow classics enthusiasts stuck indoors watching Lewis Hamilton battling it out with Bottas at the Russian GP. Good choice. I on the other hand would have been at my local church fundraising towards a kitchen construction but chose cars instead probably to witness if any changes had happened since last year that would convince me that glory was not gone. The devil won.

…FUI UN ÁNGEL CAÍDO…
Hou net vas.

Ek is vanoggend vol dankbaarheid want die donker wolk het gelig. My blogwêreld het vir drie weke op sy kop gaan staan, en ek moes klou so al wat ek kon.
Maar…
Ek het hulp gehad. Julle ouens het my help vasbyt, my aangemoedig, selfs probeer regop help.

Jo’s Monday walk : Alvor & the Estuary
In the 15 years that I’ve been coming to the Algarve, Alvor has grown and grown. Given its situation, tucked into an estuary on the far side of busy Portimáo, and with lovely Lagos at the curve of the bay, it was inevitable. It’s one of those fishing villages I used to love to nosey around. One of the huge attractions of recent years has been the addition of a boardwalk, which takes you far out into the estuary. So, I’m delving back into my summer memories, to give you a lovely simple stroll this week.
It didn’t start quite that way for me, because I was joining the end of season rally with Todos a Caminhar, along with a couple of hundred others. Off we all romped, through the village, to the bemusement of quiet Sunday morning folk. Up and around the back of the ever expanding hotels…

Fozzie loves the Louvre Pyramid
Even though Fozzie unsuccessfully tried to climb the beautiful glass pyramid, he was successful with a great photo opp.
Fozzie wishes all of you a wonderful week. He also advises all of you to avoid climbing pyramids. Especially those on private property.

My Garden Wants to Kill Me #humor #gardening
I had a college roommate who talked to her plants. Her side of our dorm room was filled with overachieving explosions of green. My side had an ever-revolving range of plants in my two little pots, doomed visitors who would linger bravely for a week or two before wanly accepting their fate.
This wasn’t really a problem over the next four decades. With jobs, kids, and a husband who likes to mow large swaths of lawn, my black thumb couldn’t do too much damage. Then I blew it. I moved to the UK, where gardening is a sacred passion.*
*I’m totally not imagining this. Recent UK census and surveys show that almost 60% of people spent time gardening within the previous month, but only 12% attended religious services.
Of course, the Days Out mainly consist of visits to the garden center, while the Historic Places visited are famous gardens…

Curonian Spit in Lithuania
In June 2018 I went back to Lithuania for my brothers graduation and I spent a few days with my parents in one the most beautiful places – Curonian Spit. It’s a UNESCO World Heritage, 98km long and shared between Lithuania (north) and Russia (south).

It’s a complete paradise that I recommend visiting to anyone going to Lithuania. You can get there by taking a very short ferry ride from Klaipėda. The area is famous for it’s original fishing villages like Nida or Juodkrantė, various folklore stories, giant sand dunes (tallest migrating dunes in Europe) and various other things you wouldn’t find anywhere else in Lithuania. I also loved beautiful and very colourful old houses, nice food and very relaxed atmosphere. Some of my favourite things were:
1. The Dead Dunes (also called the Grey Dunes)
These are the huge (up to 60m) tall dunes that moved so fast…

Perfect Peace 🌈

Your presence isn’t as harsh anymore
I can actually stand to be around you
We never come close
But close enough to where I can see the sun beginning to surround you
The smile on your face tells me that your okay
I smile back, in a reciprocating gesture
Resentment is gone
Friendship is being restored
We can talk now
Laugh a little
The distance between us remain the same, that void never filled
I’m not as scared as I thought
Less angry then I imagined
The sun begins to beam in my face, like an unwavering stare
My eyes being to open…I blink twice
I smile…I was awake in my other world
The one I imagine to be perfect peace
I rise to get my day started
Content with knowing that some things are meant to be left in that world
Content with knowing…it was all a dream 🌈
